U.S. December CPI MoM at 0.4%, Surpassing 0.3% Expectations link The United States reported a seasonally adjusted CPI monthly growth rate of 0.4% for December, exceeding the forecast of 0.3% and the previous value of 0.3%. The unadjusted annual CPI growth rate for December stood at 2.9%, aligning with expectations but higher than the prior reading of 2.7%. This marks the third consecutive monthly rebound, reaching a new peak since July 2024. Meanwhile, the unadjusted core CPI annual growth rate came in at 3.2%, the lowest since August 2024, slightly below market expectations of 3.3%. QCP Analysis highlighted that global markets rallied on the lower-than-expected CPI data, with Bitcoin surging to nearly $100,000.
