Hình ảnh
The world’s largest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin (BTC), was recently hit with a major downfall. The asset brought immense hope to the community after it surged beyond the $100,000 mark. Throughout the last couple of months in 2024, BTC managed to record a notable uptick. Carrying this trend onto 2025, the king coin surged to an all-time high of $109,114.88 in January. But February turned out to be immensely bearish for the asset. The real question is if the king coin can break its current rut and move to the next level. The Evolution of DeFi Lending Protocols

The Evolution of DeFi Lending Protocols! Decentralized Finance (DeFi) has revolutionized the financial landscape, with lending protocols emerging as one of the most significant innovations in the space. Unlike traditional banks, DeFi lending operates without intermediaries, enabling users to borrow and lend assets in a trustless, transparent, and permissionless manner. The Early Days of DeFi Lending In the early stages of DeFi, lending was relatively simple. Platforms like MakerDAO pioneered decentralized lending with the introduction of collateralized loans using DAI, a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. Borrowers could lock up their Ethereum (ETH) as collateral and mint DAI, creating a new way to access liquidity without selling assets. The Rise of Algorithmic Lending Protocols As DeFi evolved, platforms like Compound and Aave introduced algorithmic lending, allowing users to supply assets to liquidity pools and earn interest. These platforms introduced Features such as: Variable i...

Ethereum layer-2 solutions may focus less on token incentives in the future

Token incentive models may become obsolete as layer-2 networks focus on ease of functionality and low fees, but how will this impact decentralization? Layer-2 networks continue to gain momentum as the Ethereum ecosystem advances. For example, data from analytics provider Token Terminal found that layer-2 scaling solution Polygon had 313,457 daily active users as of Jan. 17, 2023 — a 30% increase in activity since October 2022.  Moreover, the Polygon ecosystem recently announced the launch of its beta version Zero-Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine. As a result, Polygon’s native token, Polygon (MATIC), maintains a bullish narrative. While notable, some believe layer-2 networks offering token incentive models may soon become obsolete. For instance, Jesse Pollak — head of protocols and Base core contributor at American crypto exchange Coinbase — told Cointelegraph at ETHDenver 2023 that there are currently no plans to associate a token with Base, the Ethereum layer-2 network recently la...

What does the future of Web3 look like to SafePal CEO Veronica Wong?

Hình ảnh
As crypto winter and numerous disasters plagued 2022, what is next in Web3 space in 2023? As the world moves toward a more digital future, the concept of Web3 and its potential to revolutionize the internet has become a hot topic in the tech industry. In this interview, SafePal CEO Veronica Wong, shares her insights on the future of Web3 and the current state of the crypto market. She also talks about her thoughts on the challenges and opportunities in the crypto Security space and how SafePal is positioning itself to meet these challenges head-on. Q: In 2022 the crypto space saw some significant turbulence and the crash of several big platforms. What do users need to know entering 2023 as crypto investors, and how can they better protect their digital assets? While black swan events damaged the general faith in crypto, a large part of it was due to the opacity and malpractice of centralized platforms, and not an accurate reflection of the industry as a whole. Crypto is still a nascen...

Learn how modular Layer-2 blockchains are helping developers build secure dApps for the Web3 future

Hình ảnh
Why are modular Ethereum Layer-2 scaling solutions best-suited for Web3 developers wanting an efficient and low-fee environment. Arguably the most popular blockchain amongst developers building decentralized applications (dApps), the Ethereum Network is credited with introducing the Web3 community to innovations like smart contracts while maintaining robust security standards. However, in order to solve Ethereum’s scalability issue, a new type of Layer-2 (L2) blockchain was introduced that relies on the Ethereum Mainnet (Layer-1) for its security but processes transactions on separate third-party networks in order to increase throughput speeds. EVM compatibility for higher transaction speeds Importantly,  developers had to ensure that these L2 blockchains were compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), a run-time environment where Ethereum’s application code and smart contracts are executed, EVM compatibility ensures that smart contracts can be executed in a cross-chain envir...

At the same time, the hot wallet of FTX US continues to transfer coins. Some people say: Is FTX about to issue an announcement (stop withdrawal)? But an historical announcement happened. Binance founder CZ: This afternoon, FTX asked for our help. There is a significant liquidity crunch. To protect users, we signed a non-binding LOI, intending to fully acquire //FTX.com and help cover the liquidity crunch. We will be conducting a full DD in the coming days. There is a lot to cover and will take some time. This is a highly dynamic situation, and we are assessing the situation in real time. Binance has the discretion to pull out from the deal at any time. We expect FTT to be highly volatile in the coming days as things develop. CZ Binance @cz_binance This afternoon, FTX asked for our help. There is ...
